Pool Manager Opening -- Summer 2018

The City of Charles Town’s Parks & Recreation Commission is hiring a Pool Manager for the 2018 Pool Season. This person works as a lead member of the Parks & Recreation Department in performance of the daily duties of managing, operating, and maintaining the swimming pool facility at Jefferson Memorial Park. Guidance, oversight, and assistance will be provided by the other staff resources within the City of Charles Town’s organization. This person will also be responsible for periodic management and coordination with other invested groups who utilize and operate authorized programs within the park system. This position requires CPR/AED and lifeguard certifications. A Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is preferred. This position requires a thorough understanding of established lifeguard practices and protocols. A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is also required. Charles Town Board of Zoning Appeals

The City of Charles Town has an opening on the Charles Town Board of Zoning Appeals (unexpired term ending 1/1/20)


  • The Board of Zoning Appeals meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 PM, at City Hall, 101 E. Washington Street in the Council Chambers


Additional information concerning the roll of the board, its duties, highlights of current issues facing the board, and any other questions should be directed to the City Manager.   • Only residents who have lived in Charles Town for at least three years prior to an appointment are eligible to serve.

An ideal candidate will have served on a municipal or other like government board or commission previously, however, candidates without prior experience or background are encouraged to apply for consideration. The deadline for applications is March 30, 2018. This appointment is expected to be made during or after the April 2, 2018 City Council Meeting which will be held at City Hall, 101 E. Washington Street at 7:00 PM.
